Lets suppose you have children still living with you at home and you entertain family and friends for parties and meals a great deal.
In the modern time kitchens have moved up from being just another room, to almost the main room of the house, and the heart of the family activity space, any thought and energy you put into a better kitchen design will pay itself back in months and years of have a great central place to enjoy family dinners and simple coffee talk quality time.
When planning a kitchen, you need to think about where you will put your major appliances. Consider the workflow when you fix a meal or do the cleanup afterwards. You don‘t want to install your sink a mile away from the prep area where you will need to use it for washing vegetables and meats. You also wouldn‘t want to locate your refrigerator in the middle of your sink and stove or have your dishwasher too far from the sink. The best placement of sink, stove and fridge is actually in a triangular shape with each appliance only a step away from the others.
Galley-Shaped Kitchen - this type of kitchen design is more common in apartments or in homes where space is limited -- it is often called the corridor style. The kitchen cabinets and the appliances can be located on opposite walls for better work flow -- place the range or cooktop on one side of the kitchen along one wall and the refrigerator and sink on the opposite wall.
